AMSTERDAM LIGHT FESTIVAL 2025-2026

From 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026, Amsterdam transforms into an open-air museum of light and art. During the fourteenth edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival, twenty international artists present their light artworks around the theme Legacy: how do we want to be remembered, and what do we leave behind for the future?

The route offers a mix of large, impressive installations and smaller, personal stories, all specially created for this edition. Together, they form a unique experience where art, light, and the city itself come together.

Why from the water?
The Amsterdam Light Festival is best enjoyed from the canals. While you sit comfortably on one of our E-Boats, you’ll glide past all the light installations and see the city from a whole new perspective. No crowds, no rush – just you, the artworks, and the stunning Amsterdam skyline.

Practical information
The light artworks can be admired daily from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and on Sunday through Tuesday until 10:00 PM. On December 31, the installations will remain switched off.
