To facilitate the construction of the first electric saloon boat in Amsterdam, a system was devised that we now all know as crowdfunding. Not only was electric sailing a first for the city, but its financing was ahead of its time as well...

Through the sale of subscriptions, several people became owners of the salon boat. In exchange for their money, they were allowed to make several trips over a period of 5 years. In this way, the construction of the saloon boat and, more importantly, the electric sailing was made possible.
